I would be ready to bet that every each of us at least once in our lifetime have dreamed how would it be, to be successful, rich, famous, and have everything that a person can ever dream of. Well I definitely have and, I think, anybody who says “no” would be a big liar. I can honestly say that professionally I haven’t been really successful yet, because I’m only a high school student and I still have time to fulfill all my desires and dreams. But that’s not the situation with most of the society. I really can’t look at those homeless people who are walking around, drinking and asking for money and not even trying to get a job. That is terrible, because by the last statistics estimated unemployment rate inUSAis 10%, which is 26 million people from which at least half is not even trying to get a job and make their lives a little bit better and more successful. I guess, I can’t say anything, because you build your own life and are responsible whatever happens and how successful you are. But that is the dark side of our society. There is always great minds, people who work hard and workaholics who swim in the sea of success. I put my head down in front of them. But is it always good? Well you can ask them that, but I would disagree. You have to live your life happy and there is nothing bad to be great at what you do. The border where people should start to worry is when they feel that they have too much. The only problem is that people who are, for example, great, rich, successful and think that everything is perfect, would never feel the border. And I honestly would not feel it too and would not even care, but there is always a moment where you can have everything and in the next second you realize that you don’t have anything. I think one man fromLatvia, named Aigars, who I knew, is a perfect example. He had a perfect life. He was really smart, athletic, funny and most important successful. When he was a kid, his father started a business – meat factories, that made their family really, really rich. As he grew older, he got the right education in different really good schools and joined his dad’s business and legacy. Now it was fathers and son’s company. Everything seemed perfect in his story while we were sitting in the hotel room inFinlandbefore New Years night and playing chess, until he got to the part where his dad got shot and killed by his business partners. The business partner part was not officially confirmed but he knew it. Aigars said, that day part of him died together with his dad. He felt terribly guilty, because a few weeks before his dad’s death, he asked his son, maybe we should sell the company, but Aigars did not even want to hear anything like that, he was enjoying his fancy lifestyle and did not want to give it away. But you see, maybe if they would’ve sold it, nothing like that would happen. That was only the first part of destruction of his life. A little bit after New Years when I returned inLatvia, I was watching television and thinking would I actually want a life like that. Few seconds later I realized that he didn’t even have a life anymore. It was all over the news – business man killed with 5 bullets in the stomach and one in the head in the yard of his own house. He was a really nice guy, and I bet his dad was not worse, but if there is money in between, nobody really cares. That is why I think success can be really disastrous, especially with that greed that is ruling inside people nowadays. Despites all the other things, I think the biggest loss was for his mom. She did not only loose a husband and a son, she basically died herself, because they were all her life. And all this just because, they found the real way how to earn money and direction in life. So there is a moment to think about. For every single thing that you do in life there are going to be pros and cons. Even though you are a lucky rich guy, some poor guy is going to suffer from that, again, if you live on the street government has to “suffer” and pay for your food and shelters. I’m not saying that people have to be a “boring average” and not try to fulfill their dreams and be successful in life, they should just always be ready for what’s coming.
